Service terminal Gijon sources feedstock's for the next generation transportation fuels and chemical commodities between the ARA region, South America and the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
Port of Gijon
Spain's biggest dry bulk port has started in 2005 to develop an expansion zone of 145 hectares. This 710 million euro investment at the Atlantic Coast of Spain will be completed in 2010/2011. The expansion area will be explored based on the growth strategy as the energy port of Spain.
I.e. dry bulk activities of the EBHI company will be transit at a new terminal with a total capacity of 25 million tons. Liquefied Natural Gas ‘LNG´ will be handled at the new terminal of ENAGAS with a capacity of 300.000 m3. Liquid bulk and maritime services at Service Terminal Gijon are facilitated in phase 1 with a storage capacity of 81.000 m3 and in phase 2 with a total storage capacity of 162.000 m3. The planning of a new short sea container terminal with warehouse and reefer facilities is currently in process with the Port Authority of Gijon.

- A maritime depth of 21-25 meters at the quays

- Short lead time of maritime vessels to the ARA region
- Development of ZALIA , the international business park of 400 hectares at 10 km distance of the Port between the cities of Gijon and Oviedo, the regional capital of Asturias.
